Southern Epilepsy & EEG Society and Western Clinical Neurophysiology Society Meeting

Please join us at The Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah, for the annual meeting of the Southern Epilepsy & EEG Society on March 27- March 29, 2009. This year we will be joining up with the Western Clinical Neurophysiology Society for another outstanding scientific program featuring exceptional speakers, selected for their expertise in each respective area of research in neurology and epileptology.

Educational Symposia

The Annual Meeting will deliver two comprehensive Symposia on controversial issues in epilepsy. As in previous years, this meeting will offer a venue for learning and discussion. This meeting will cover a wide range of topics including one symposium devoted to co-morbidities of epilepsy. In this symposium speakers will present on mood disorders, psychosis, migraines, and their relationship to, incidence of, and influence on quality of life issues in epilepsy patients. The second symposium will address hospital quality and safety issues in relation to the epilepsy monitoring unit. In addition to both presentations and discussion sessions, we will also discuss the results of the EMU safety survey that were distributed to members of each society. The focus of this symposium is to address real concerns faced in epilepsy units around the United States and develop strategies to change the way clinicians practice in order to positively affect these issues. Expert faculty will present or debate each topic. The meeting program will begin at around 6:00 p.m. on Friday (March 27th) and conclude by 1:00 p.m. on Sunday (March 29th).

Epilepsy/EEG Fellows Program

The Annual Meeting this year will continue the successful fellows epilepsy program launched in 1996. It provides fellows from national epilepsy centers an opportunity to present clinically unusual or difficult cases to an audience of epileptologists. The fellows can experience a discussion or debate involving specialists from several centers. To date over 73 fellows have attended the Fellow Program of the SEEEG Society.
